Fast emerging on-line record label Sicpuppy Records has just signed up to use 3Bill to provide marketing campaigns on mobile phones.

Sicpuppy invites unsigned bands to upload music tracks to its website, which then become available to fans of the site. The fans are invited to vote for their favourite bands, resulting in a weekly top 20 list being posted on the site. Bands featuring at the top of the charts gain additional attention from the companies own A&R team with view to securing record contracts and live touring opportunities. Sicpuppy was founded by ex Busted member, James Bourne and the site has already garnered a large following.

3Bill will run a variety of campaigns for Sicpuppy including competitions, voting, polling, downloads and promotional campaigns to run with tours organised by Sicpuppy. Currently a competition is being run to win a rare MP3 player which can be entered by the user entering a multiple choice answer to a simple question placed on the website followed by a shortcode which will charge the user £1.50 to enter the competition.

Sicpuppy decided to incorporate mobile phones as a means of marketing to its users after having polled them via their website to ascertain how best they liked to be communicated with. It emerged that the two most popular means of communicating were by blog and mobile phone.
3Bill will also support the Sic Tour, a brand new live music phenomenon set to sweep across the UK next year by providing mobile services such as text-to-screen, competitions, music downloads and potentially mobile barcoding
The Sic Tour will kick off in Shepherds Bush Empire on March 24th 2007, and represents the first in a series of planned gigs across the UK, where established headline bands will play along side the UK’s hottest unsigned talents.
